Record ETF inflows and a historic exchange debut were the focus on this week’s ETF Prime. QQQ has pulled in $22 billion in inflows despite new low-cost Nasdaq 100 competitors. Westwood’s PWRX is the first ETF to launch on the new Texas Stock Exchange. The Vanguard Total Bond Market ETF (BND A-) and iShares Core U.S. Aggregate Bond ETF (AGG A-) also crossed that mark. On equities, Rosenbluth pointed to the Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ B). Despite new low-cost competition from iShares and State Street, the fund has still gathered $22 billion. The Invesco S&P 500 Equal Weight ETF (RSP B+) added $14 billion, evidence that investors are broadening beyond market-cap weighting. Even so, familiar names like the Vanguard S&P 500 ETF (VOO A) and the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (SPY A-) still dominate the leaderboard.Active Equity's Strong Year and What's AheadRosenbluth also highlighted three distinct flavors of active equity success this year: quantitative strategies from Avantis, fundamental approaches from Capital Group and iShares, and options-based income funds from JPMorgan and NEOS. Looking to year-end, he’s watching whether value and international strategies sustain their edge, and whether ETF share class adoption reaches double digits among fund firms, up from five today. Brian Casey, CEO of Westwood Holdings Group, also joined to discuss the Westwood Salient Enhanced Power & Infrastructure ETF PWRX. The fund is the first ETF to launch on the new Texas Stock Exchange. The fund targets the power grid buildout through natural gas, utilities, and infrastructure names. It writes covered calls on roughly half the portfolio, targeting a 5% annual yield paid out monthly.
