Amplify Makes Plans to Take Over TACK ETF: What to Know

Change may very well be on the horizon for the Fairlead Tactical Sector ETF (TACK ).Key Takeaways: Proposed plans were recently approved for Amplify Investments to reorganize and take over the Fairlead Tactical Sector ETF (TACK). The fund will be renamed the Amplify Fairlead Tactical Sector ETF, but its strategy and sub-advisor, Fairlead Strategies, will remain unchanged. These developments are the latest instance of Amplify collaborating with Fairlead Strategies and Katie Stockton, following the launch of the Amplify Fairlead Tactical Bitcoin ETF (BNAV) back in July. Recently, proposed plans were approved for the Fairlead Tactical Sector ETF (TACK ) to be reorganized. While Cary Street currently serves as the fund’s advisor, Amplify Investments is set to take the helm upon completion of the reorganization. At that point, the fund’s title will be changed to the Amplify Fairlead Tactical Sector ETF (TACK). Aside from the advisor and title changes, TACK’s strategy and operations should remain largely unchanged. Katie Stockton and Fairlead Strategies will serve as subadvisor, and the fund will continue to pursue the same investment approach. Managed by renowned technical analyst Katie Stockton, the fund does this by investing in ETFs that focus on sectors within the S&P 500, such as the State Street Technology Select Sector ETF (XLK A). Leveraging the advantages of active management, TACK also offers plenty of downside protection. When the equity market gets too dicey, the fund has the flexibility to pivot into strategies like the State Street SPDR Portfolio Short Term Treasury ETF (SPTS B+) or the SPDR Gold Minishares Trust (GLDM ). This analysis helps the fund’s portfolio managers drill in on favorable price trends. From there, the portfolio is then fine-tuned with a quantitative momentum overlay. This is not the first time Amplify Investments has collaborated with Katie Stockton and the Fairlead Strategies team. Back in July, Amplify launched the Amplify Fairlead Tactical Bitcoin ETF (BNAV). BNAV uses Stockton and Fairlead’s technical expertise to provide bitcoin exposure that adjusts based upon market trends. Of course, the changes to TACK are not expected to happen overnight. Currently, the fund’s reorganization is anticipated to occur around December 2026. For more news, information, and strategy, visit ETFdb.
