Top Performing Levered/Inverse ETFs Last WeekThese were last week’s top performing leveraged and inverse ETFs. Note that because of leverage, these kinds of funds can move quickly. Always do your homework.1. BOIL – ProShares Ultra Bloomberg Natural Gas BOIL, the natural gas ETF, topped the top-performing leveraged ETFs list and gained more than 72% in the last week. U.S. natural gas prices skyrocketed as sudden shifts in weather forecasts signaled an abrupt return of winter risks. This forced traders to scramble and reprice for increased heating demand, sparking a massive surge in Henry Hub futures and investor activity. 2. GDXU – MicroSectors Gold Miners 3X Leveraged ETN GDXU is a leveraged equity fund that provides 3x exposure to an index comprised of two of the largest gold miners’ ETFs, viz VanEck Gold Miners ETF (GDX) and VanEck Junior Gold Miners ETF (GDXJ), that invest in the global gold mining industry. GDXU ranked second on the list and returned over 34% last week. Gold prices hit historic highs above $5,100 per ounce as investors rushed to safe-haven assets following President Trump’s threat of 100% tariffs on Canada, and U.S. government shutdown fears. 3. AGQ – Proshares Ultra Silver AGQ ETF, which offers 2x daily long leverage to the Silver bullion, returned ~31% last week. Silver prices hit all-time highs after President Trump threatened to slap tariffs on Canada, and fears of a U.S. government shutdown. 4. JNUG – Direxion Daily Junior Gold Miners Index Bull 2x Shares Another gold-focused ETF, JNUG, which seeks to return 200% of the daily performance of the MVIS Global Junior Gold Miners Index, ranked fourth on the list of top-performing leveraged/inverse ETFs last week, returning ~27%. 5. SHNY – MicroSectors Gold 3X Leveraged ETNs SHNY, an ETF offering 3x daily leveraged exposure to the spot price of gold, was another gold ETF that made it to the list with weekly gains of approximately 27%. 6. AMDL – GraniteShares 2x Long AMD Daily ETF AMDL provides 2x leveraged exposure to the daily price movement for shares of Advanced Micro Devices stock made it to the list, with over 24% weekly gains. AMD shares surged over 100% due to record-breaking earnings and massive new AI hardware deals with OpenAI and Oracle, as well as high demand for AI chips, positioning AMD as a primary challenger to Nvidia’s dominance in the AI infrastructure market. 7. ETHD – ProShares UltraShort Ether ETF ETHD, which tracks -2x the daily price movements of an index that measures the price of Ethereum ETF was one of the contenders on the ETFs’ list with over 22% weekly gains. Ether prices fell last week due to broader macroeconomic pressures, increased liquidations of leveraged positions, and institutional investor outflows. The cryptocurrency market reacted sharply to global events, leading to a significant drop in value. 8. BRZU – Direxion Daily MSCI Brazil Bull 2X Shares BRZU, which provides 2x daily leveraged exposure to an index of large and mid-cap Brazilian companies, made it to the list. Brazilian equities are surging in 2026, driven by a weakening U.S. dollar and higher commodity prices, as well as a massive investor rotation into emerging markets. 9. UBR – ProShares Ultra MSCI Brazil Capped UBR, which offers 2x daily long leverage to the MSCI Brazil Index, also ranked among the top-performing levered ETFs with ~21% weekly gains driven by strong services data. 10. NUGT – Direxion Daily Gold Miners Index Bull 2x Shares Another gold ETF, NUGT, seeks daily investment results of 200% of the performance of the NYSE Arca Gold Miners Index was one of the top levered ETFs.
