This Marvell ETF May Be Ready for Big Things

Shares of Marvell Technology (MRVL), a rising player on the AI semiconductor stage, are higher by more than 21% for the month ending Oct. 9. It’s easy to understand why.Indicating that risk-aware, short-term traders may want to evaluate the Direxion Daily MRVL Bull 2X ETF (MRVU), Marvell updated its financial guidance. Management indicates it expects 58% annualized top-line growth through 2030. Underscoring the potential potency of MRVU, which attempts to deliver 200% of the daily performance of the tech stock, Marvell sees pathways to $90 billion in sales by fiscal 2031. “Marvell’s base case comes in more than 50% higher on the top and bottom lines in 2030 than our bullish model coming in,” noted Morningstar analyst William Kerwin. “It agrees with our view that artificial intelligence demand is accelerating through 2028 and durable through 2030. Still, the rate of growth blew our model out of the water.”AI Spending Supportive of Marvell, MRVUAs a provider of networking and processing chips into data centers, Marvell is very much tethered to AI spending. And the aforementioned increased guidance may be a sign that the company believes hyperscaler expenditures will be durable for at least a few more years. The AI spending road and Marvell’s own journey to revenue growth may not be bump-free. But for traders who can handle the risks of leveraged ETFs, occasional use of MRVU could be rewarding. “Marvell fully endorsed durable AI spending, calling for $3 trillion in AI capital spending in 2030 and supported by rising profitability and hyperscale cloud providers. We still see loss-making frontier labs OpenAI and Anthropic as material risks to this growth until they show they can turn a profit,” added Kerwin. There’s more to the Marvell story. And it’s potentially compelling news to traders considering sporadic use of the geared MRVU. The tech company has a deep product portfolio and a surprisingly diverse client base. That confirms it’s not tethered to a singular AI concept or demand from just one hyperscaler. “We like Marvell’s focus on connectivity, a wide product set, and a diverse customer base,” concluded Kerwin. “To us, it owns both depth and breadth across AI silicon infrastructure, despite being a relatively small compute player. We see management’s targets as highly credible.” Morningstar has a fair value estimate of $360 on Marvell, well ahead of its Oct. 9 closing price of $275.28.
