Preferred Securities Expert Screens

Preferred Securities

The goal of this screen is to find financially strong companies with preferred securities that seek to offer above market dividend yields. Some investors may choose preferred securities over common stock because dividends on preferred securities usually have a higher priority in the issuing company's capital structure than those of common stock. As a result, if a company were to reduce or stop its dividends, it would be more likely do so on its common stock before it did so on its preferred securities.

*Screener results may include American Depository Receipts, Limited Partnerships and Master Limited Partnerships, Unit Trust Funds, Real Estate Investment Trusts, and other types of exchange traded securities.

The Fidelity Stock, Preferred Security, ETF/ETP and Closed End Fund Screeners (Screener(s)) are research tools provided to help self-directed investors evaluate these types of securities.
