Hit the Pedal on Tesla Income With This ETF

Count Tesla (TSLA) among the famous megacap growth stocks that don’t pay dividends. Investors waiting on Elon Musk to change that tune are likely to be waiting for a while. The good news is that the electric vehicle giant isn’t a zero-income proposition. Market participants simply need to know where to look. When it comes to Tesla income, the newly minted Direxion TSLA Defined Income Boost ETF (TSIB) may prove to be an attractive destination. A member of Direxion’s suite of seven Defined Income Boost ETFs that debuted in July, TSIB is an actively managed, options-based income fund with an easy-to-understand objective. “Designed to distribute income twice a month without giving up all of the stock’s potential performance. The fund targets a 20% annual distribution rate. The occurrence and amount of any such distributions depend on the performance of the underlying security relative to the options sold and are not guaranteed,” according to Direxion. TSIB isn’t yet three months old, but it is living up to the promise of twice-monthly distributions, having accomplished that feat in August and September. And the ETF is on pace to do it again this month.Time to Talk TSIBTesla’s recently unveiled Roadster sports car could be a catalyst for the stock while potentially stoking interest in the income-laden TSIB. “The Roadster will be Tesla’s new halo car, or high-performance luxury vehicle designed to showcase an automaker’s best engineering and technology,” noted Morningstar analyst Seth Goldstein. “The release event showed the Roadster using SpaceX technology, a thruster and fan system, to allow the car to temporarily fly.” The new Roadster may be an auto enthusiast’s dream, as the company claims the car can go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 0.81 seconds. Even the most elite supercars take twice as long to hit that mark. Of course, fun automotive facts aren’t the reason to consider Tesla shares or TSIB, but the new car has compelling intangibles that could bolster the cases for the stock and the new Direxion ETF. “A high-end sports car that is the fastest car in the world and that can temporarily fly does a great job highlighting Tesla as a unique luxury car company, which should draw consumers to Tesla vehicles and could support increased deliveries once the car enters production in 2028,” added Goldstein.
