Which Funds Stand Out Among the Best Value ETFs This Year?

Just two more months remain for ETFs this year to add to their track records. 2026’s story, outside the headlines, has been informed by the push and pull between concentration risk and a broadening market. That, and high valuations for some of those major tech names, have opened up an opportunity for value ETFs to stand out. Here are three of the most intriguing names among the best value ETFs so far in 2026.Key Takeaways: Value ETFs have seen some solid YTD performance according to ETF Database data. That includes value ETFs with both domestic and ex-U.S. equities focuses. Combining those varied, active and indexed value ETFs, investors have strong options for 2027. Why look to value? With the S&P 500 at a not-insignificant 21.08 forward p/e ratio as of September 30th, per YCharts data, undervalued firms may offer better opportunities by contrast. Value ETFs have delivered some very solid returns YTD according to ETF Database data, with some solid names therein. The Avantis U.S. Large Cap Value ETF (AVLV B+) AVLV has returned 24.3% YTD according to ETF Database data. The strategy charges a relatively small 15 basis point (bps) fee for its approach. Its performance has seen it outperform its ETF Database Large Cap Value Equities Category average for that period, as well. That owes to its active approach that combines fundamental screens of cash flow, revenue, shares outstanding, and other metrics with that active expertise. Using the Russell 1000 Value Index as a benchmark, it represents a solid option among the best value ETFs so far this year. What Value ETFs Can Do Entering 2027The iShares MSCI Emerging Markets Value Factor ETF (EVLU B) EVLU charges a 35 bps fee to track the MSCI Emerging Markets Value Factor Select Index. EVLU, which launched in 2024, tracks emerging markets value stocks in large and midcap spaces. That index ascribes value and quality scores based on fundamental metrics, selecting for securities with standout value metrics. EVLU has returned 27.7% YTD according to ETF Database data. The strategy has outperformed the ETF Database Large Cap Value Equities category average YTD, too. The fund has done so while providing diversification away from U.S. concentration risk, where AVLV provides a U.S. focus. The Marketbeta Russell 1000 Value Equity ETF (GVUS B-) Finally, GVUS provides a different set of exposures to either of those funds. The ETF has hundreds more holdings than AVLV, with overall overlap between the two at less than 33%. GVUS charges a 12 bps to track the Marketbeta Russell 1000 Value Index, derived from large and midcap stocks from the Russell. GVUS has returned 23.7% YTD according to ETF Database data. That also beat the large cap value category average. The fund aims to identify Russell 1000 names with lower forecasted growth and price-to-book ratios. GVUS will hit its three year ETF milestone next month, as well. See more: Is Now the Moment for Value ETFs? EVLV’s ex-U.S. exposure can appeal if headwinds grow for AI stocks and a bubble does appear to pop. Meanwhile, the domestic, U.S.-focused names could prove strong early options if the market does broaden significantly. For more news, information, and analysis, visit the Equity ETF Content Hub.
